We have assembled them ourselves and found the instructions to be VERY easy to follow, with step by step illustrations. It's just a matter of screwing together all of the parts - if you have an electric screw driver, it will go quicker, but chances are you could assemble this while watching a football game and get it done in one afternoon. Appropriate for young children to play with!! Comes in a really attractive illustrated box, so if you don't get it built in time for Christmas, let them open the box and  you can build it together over the holiday!
